Back in the '70's I was a member of the Friendship Force. A team from the US would stay in the homes of Newcastle families, while a UK team would stay in our homes (yes we left the parents behind!) I remember some of the most challenging matches were the ones from Wallsend Boys Club. It was our first introduction to English football... and what an introduction it was! The summers I spent in Newcastle playing football were some of my most cherished memories, and I've never forgotten the name of Wallsend Boys Club. I'm now going on 44-years-old and still playing football as much as ever, and Newcastle is the team I cheer for, as I've always done since my first visit to the UK. Cheers, Wallsend Boys Club, this pint's for YOU! - Andrew

My friends used the club a lot way back in 70's/80's we dont have enough for the young ones in the area and this club goes back as far as i can remember. Im 44 now and admittedly i only used the club for the disco which used to be on once a week, was the highlight of my week when i was at school, could do with another if its not already on

G'Day I just came across your web site and what a suprise, 1955/56 I was a member of the Wallsend boys club, we lived at 31 lincon ave. I still have some wondeful memories fo that time, I've been living in Austalia for the last 40 odd years now, seen most of the world, but always a Geordie and proud of it. all the best. Neil MacArthur.
