Schemes - Robinwood 2008

In May 2008, the Positive Futures team took 11 young people aged 10-12 years to Robinwood Outdoor Activity Centre near Alston, Cumbria, for a three day residential. This was carried out over a full weekend and included many exciting activities such as Archery, Canoeing, Caving, Climbing and Abseiling, Obstacle Courses, Stream Walking, Orienteering, Trapeze (this involved climbing to the top of a telegraph pole, and jumping off!!), Zip Wire, Team Challenges and Moorland Walking.

This weekend tested the nerves of even the toughest boys that took part, but they all worked very hard as a team to get through their team challenges and even battled through the Piranha Pool together...and survived!!

Jack Oliver, 12, said: "I really enjoyed Robinwood because there were lots of different, exciting activities to do. My favourite activity was archery because it gave me some experience of something I wouldn't usually do at home. All the staff at Robinwood were really friendly and fun too!".

Well done to everyone that took part!

We hope to run this as an annual scheme of work, so other young people have the opportunity to develop their team building and communication skills as well as having loads of fun too!
